I truly have no business being on my laptop right now. Last Wednesday, I had PRK (photo refractive keratectomy) laser vision correction surgery done and have been recovering ever since. While every day is a slight improvement over the previous, my vision is still expectedly blurred. Having said that, I’m blooming with new ideas and aching to get back to this lil ol’ website of mine.

I’ve been disconnected for a while, living life sans l’ordinateur; so much so I decided to delete all of my Instagram photos. It’s been a month and a half since I started taking antidepressants and for the most part, I’m doing fine. As for the other part, well, let’s just say I’m only human. I have so much to write about, but haven’t been able to conjure up the correct wording for my miscellaneous state of psyche. With my doctor’s recommendation, I’m going to give finding the right therapist another try.

My eyes are beginning to feel strained from staring at the screen so I’m going to cut this feeble attempt of a post short. If anyone has recommendations for podcasts that will make me smarter, please send them my way. By far, one of the best investments I could have done for myself is improve my vision, but with it does come hours and hours on end hanging out in the dark at home.

    Hi Lilyanne,

Thanks for sharing this post with the public. I resonate quite a bit with you and I feel perhaps through email , I can also shed a bit of my story with you and might help you out a bit. It’s not meant for the public but rather personal. But thank you, it takes a lot to share yourself with the public and most importantly what it means to you.

    Keep it up 🙂

    Grace

    Hi, my love,

I have been thinking about you for quite some time now, and sending positive thoughts and waves your way. I highly agree with your doctor. Finding the right therapist turned my life around in the last couple of years (which have been shitty, most of which I didn’t share with you on our last few calls)… I wish you much luck and hope you find a good one.

Good podcasts: Freakonomics (listen to their archive–amazing shit), and for life stories from around the globe: This American Life.

Try getting some eyewear that minimizes eye strain from blue light – PhoneticEyeware specializes in blue light reduction reading glasses that don’t make you look stupid.

Sending love, light, and lots of positive waves, always.

I wish you a quick and speedy recovery and peace in the other areas of your life. And good luck with the therapist. I have heard great things about receiving therapy. I don’t follow many podcasts, but if you’re really into hip hop music, there’s one called Runaway Jukebox that I’m in love with. Also, I follow a podcast called The Sexually Liberated Woman that gives me so much life.
